With this initiative, our goal is to promote environmental causes and through Zach's Planet we have rescued 120,000 pounds of unwanted items from potentially being thrown into landfills and found new homes for them!  Donating 130,000 used books and 5000 upcycled pet toys, we are making a difference.

Sophie’s Closet is led by Eco Brothers Junior Board Member and high school student, Sophie Farnan. The initiative is aimed at providing formal wear for rent, at no cost, to low-income high school students throughout Hillsborough County, FL. According to county data, 40% or more students are eligible to receive free and reduced lunch due to their family’s economic circumstances.

“All students should be able to experience the fun of homecoming and prom regardless of their finances,” says Sophie. “We don’t want formal wear costs to hold anyone back from taking part in this cherished high school tradition.”
